Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson Both lawyers. When she was just five years old, she moved to Oxfordshire and enrolled in the Dragon School. Emma had a dream to be a professional actress when she was just at the age of six. She attended Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford, an acting institute that offers part-time classes. At the age of 10, she had appeared and played the lead in various Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the film adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel began casting in 1999. Emma was discovered by agents through their Oxford teacher. David Heyman announced to Emma that, after auditioning for eight times, she as well as Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. Emma's screen debut took place with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's premiere in 2001. It broke all records in beginning-day and weekend-opening sales and became the top-grossing movie in 2001. The film was praised by reviewers, and so were the performance of three new starlets. The Daily Telegraph in Britain, which is widely distributed the newspaper, described her performance as outstanding. Later Emma was nominated for five awards for her role in the film and was awarded an award called the Young Artist Award for Leading Actress Young in a feature Film.
